The estate of Nozzole is one of the best known estates in Tuscany, and the producer, Folonari, is legendary. Vines are densely planted, with relatively low yields, giving concentrated, complex Chianti Classico. This is a beautifully layered wine, with savoury earthy notes mingling with dried cherries and woody herbs. The finish is long, with lightly toasty notes from maturation in French oak casks.
The producer serves this at their villa with Florentine steak from local beef, and white beans. We think it would be even better with Irish beef!
