This wine has an intense ruby red colour with well defined varietal fruit characters on the nose. The palate shows rich ripe berry flavours and good balance. It is ideal to drink at any time and is perfect with red meats and mild cheese.
General McKenna who was born in 1771 in Ireland, was a hero in Chile during the Chilean War of Independence. General McKenna, a firm ally of Bernardo O'Higgins, the emancipator of Chile, was commissioned by the first Chilean government to prepare a plan for the defence of the country. As a reward for his military achievements he was appointed commandant-general of the Chilean Army. General McKenna remains an Irish hero in Chilean history.
