Luxardo Maraschino Originale 70cl – The Bartender’s Secret Since 1821
Still made to Girolamo Luxardo’s original 1821 recipe, Maraschino Originale is distilled from Luxardo’s own marasca cherries. The fruit is infused for up to three years in larch-wood vats with leaves and branches from the trees, distilled in copper pot stills, then rested in ash-wood vats before being lightly sweetened. The tall green bottle is still hand-wrapped in straw at the distillery.
- Tasting notes: Crystal clear, with a marasca cherry and roasted-nut aroma. Smooth but sharp on the palate, with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and orange marmalade.
- In cocktails: An essential ingredient in classics like the Aviation, the Last Word and the Martinez.
- Also great: Neat after dinner, drizzled over strawberries, pineapple or ice cream, or in desserts and baking.
