CUNE Rioja Reserva

CUNE Rioja Reserva is a classic, beautifully balanced Rioja from CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España), one of Rioja’s historic wineries, founded in Haro in 1879. The hand-harvested grapes, mostly Tempranillo with a little Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, come from the winery’s own vineyards in Rioja Alta. The wine is aged in French and American oak barrels and then rests in bottle before release, so it arrives ready to enjoy.

Garnet in colour, it offers fresh red forest fruits and liquorice on the nose, woven with vanilla, toffee, sweet spice and light toasty notes from the barrel. The palate is round, smooth and silky, with a fresh, lingering finish. It has just been named the best Old World red under €20 at the Irish Wine Show Star Awards.
