This superb wine is intense, full-bodied, loaded with flavours ranging from dried cherry and plum, dried fig, kirsch, chocolate, herbs and earthy, savoury notes. It has a rich smooth mouthfeel, and a generous long, warm finish.
This wine is made with the very top grapes (mostly Corvina). The grapes are picked early then dried for four months. These concentrated grapes are then crushed and fermented very slowly, and once fermented, aged for 36 months in large Slavonian casks. It is then aged in bottle before being released.
Food match: enjoy with slow-braised beef, ragu, lamb shanks and rich, hearty dishes.
