Rich aromas of concentrated dried red fruit compote, dried herbal notes. Full-bodied and powerful, yet smooth, rich and satisfying on the palate. All this is tempered by a vibrant streak, so the wine is really well-balanced. This family-run winery was established in the 1950s, and farm their vineyards on organic principles, although it's not certified as such. The tralcetto or string conveys this sense of this tradition, and gives this wine extra appeal as a gift.
Fantastic with chocolate (!!), blue cheese, or rich, slow-cooked autumn/winter casseroles.
