Prosecco

Traditionally an Italian Sparkling White Wine. Prosecco DOC can be found in a still variety known as Tranquillo, a semi-sparkling variety called Frizzante and of course Spumante or sparkling. The flavour is usually intense, aromatic and crisp, with a hint apple, pear, white peach, or apricot.

It is traditionally made Glera grapes which originates in the Italian village of Prosecco near Trieste. A variety of grapes including Pinot Bianco, Pinot Nero, Perera, Pinot Grigio and others may combine to blend new flavours.

Prosecco does not ferment in the bottle so, it should be consumed as young as possible. The wine is commonly consumed at celebrations or used as an apèritif. You will also find it is commonly used in cocktails such as Bellini, Spritz and even Mimosa.
