Molloys wines recommended in the press

Irish Examiner Molloys wines

In the last few years, we’ve developed a culture of trying to ensure we are getting the best possible value for our hard-earned money. With so many discounts on offer on everything, it can be difficult to make comparisons, and establish the true price points. Branded goods are straightforward, but when it comes to wine, it’s difficult to compare like with like.
Our team takes great care in ensuring that we offer great value in wines, as well as all our products. We aim to offer  the best we can find, at the lowest price points.  Molloys Exclusive Wines are sourced directly from the vineyard. We pass on the savings directly to you, in the form of everyday low prices. So, while other retailers inflate the price, and offer a discount a few times a year, we tend to offer that saving on single bottle purchases year-round.  As a family-owned and run business, we like to give great value in wines, be fair & square in our dealings.
And our wines, often less expensive than competitors, tend to stand out at press tastings. We’d like to share what critics say about our Molloys Exclusive Wines:
Sancerre Jean Max Roger: “affordable luxury wine…enjoyment you'd expect from a Sancerre costing €5 more.” – The Irish Sun, August 2014.
Le Grand Blanc : "Stunning wine.. Rich acacia and white flowers on the nose give way to the perfumed viognier. Then the nutty, toasty apricot and honey notes of a southern Burgundy star emerge. The finish is smooth and delicious." – Sunday Business Post, August 2015
Gigondas, Cellier des Princes: “The embossed bottle shouts class, which the wine inside lives up to.” –Thetaste.ie, Sept 2015.
Butterfly Tree Chenin Blanc: “..a good example of the value Chenin can represent. Clean fresh apple and grapefruit, crisp acidity on the finish.“ – The Examiner, August 2015
Mas de Mas Chardonnay Viognier: “ripe peach, toast and butterscotch, with a lengthy finish that suggests much more than its price tag.” – The Daily Star, August 2015
Pedra d’Auga Albarinho: “It is baffling that people stick to Pinot Grigio when there is an alternative such as this.” – Food & Wine magazine.
Quinta do Valdoeiro Bairrada: “A BIG Portuguese blend… Full-bodied yet smooth red with notes of cherry, fig and oak.” –The Irish Sun, October 2015.
